Takanotsume is a member of the Capsicum Annuum species and is a medium hot chili pepper variety. It looks great in pots and grows to approx. 50cm – 60cm in height. The plant grows many pods which point upwards, and they ripen to a dark red colour. You can also harvest the pods green which is how they are normally used fresh for cooking or when red they can be dried and used as a powder of flakes.

Takanotsume is also called the Hawk Claw Pepper.
